Kim started restoring furniture for the family home in 1981. By 1984 she became self employed in order to spend more time extending her skills by working alongside a very well respected local restoration specialist. The decision to set up independently was made in 1993/4. Tim who had always been involved in the restoration process also became a For... mer Glory devotee in 1999. Our family run private workshop is based on the borders of Dorset and Hampshire in England. We have always specialised in "Seat Bottoming" otherwise known as cane, rush, seagrass and general wicker weaving, this combined with the traditional aspects of antique restoration means that we are able to offer a complete in-house service to our clients. We aim to offer an affordable, good quality, sympathetic service. With over two decades of experience we have the hands on knowledge to solve most problems. A full written estimate is given before work commences, and customers are welcome to view their furniture throughout the restoration process. We can also offer a digital photographic record of the work if required. References are available on request. Increasing interest in traditional and rural crafts has created a demand for top quality materials in DIY quantities. So in 2000 we set up a an internet based mail order service so that we could supply the finest quality seating materials to anyone who would like to try their hand at weaving. The materials we stock are specialist and difficult to find elsewhere. We use them ourselves, they have to be the best quality or else we are unhappy!
