Technical software for the Animal feed industry. In 1973 Martin Midgley had the idea of providing "Least-cost" Feed formulation systems to the animal feed industry via digital computer time sharing systems. Until that time such facilities were only available to the largest companies with "main-frame" computers or those with slow and cumbersome Anal... ogue computers, very expensive in both cases. It was not long before mini computers became available & affordable (although still the size of a shed!) and the formulations system was developed to run on these and then of course the advent of the PC in the 1980s revolutionised the task of the nutritionist. Continual development of the software means that todays Superfeeds formulation system is the most advanced and comprehensive available. In the late '70's the first computer based Bag labelling system enabled labels to be rapidly edited and modified and then immediately printed on site, the Formprint label printing system came into being using a rugged and dust proof micro computer developed and manufactured in-house.
