Flourish Mental Health Action In Our Hands Inc. (Flourish) is Tasmanias peak body for people with a personal lived experience of mental ill-health. Flourish is a member-based, independent, not-for-profit organisation that works with mental health consumers, the state mental health system, mental health service providers, and the community to ensure... that the voice of lived experience mental is heard in the planning and delivery of Tasmanian mental health services. Flourish and its Members also work to counter marginalisation, discrimination, stigma and the sense of profound isolation that is often experienced by people living with mental ill-health. Many Flourish staff have personal lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery. This helps us to understand deeply the various needs and perspectives of our Members while recognising that everyones lived experience is unique. Flourish seeks wherever possible to recruit its staff from its Membership base. 90% of Flourishs paid staff are also Flourish Members.Read More
