Floor Zone began in June of 2003 and is currently owned and operated... by Jack Kinard and Jeff Megow. Jack has been in the floor coverings industry for approximately 40 years. Prior to operating Floor Zone, Jack served as President (and part owner) of LD Brinkman Company's Houston Division with service centers across Texas and Louisiana. LD Brinkman was the nation's largest floor coverings distributor for over 33 years with annual sales over $450 million before it was sold in 1999. LD Brinkman offered a complete line of floor coverings including both residential and commercial carpet, hardwood, VCT tile, ceramic tile, stone floors, countertops and a vast array of tools and sundry products. Jeff Megow joined Floor Zone in 2005 as a minority partner. Jeff has worked in several industries, specializing in operations, sales and marketing. Jeff's operational background combined with Jack's industry relationships and knowledge has propelled Floor Zone to continual growth. Most of our installation mechanics have been working with Floor Zone since our inception. Mechanics regularly receive training on the latest installation techniques for carpets, tile, wood and miscellaneous building materials.
