FloFil

FloFil is a unique controlled low-strength material (CLSM), or flowable fill. Flowable fill was developed as a solution to fill applications where proper compaction of soil or granular fill was not achievable. Flowable fill mixtures are typically used for applications such as: backfill for utility trenches; underground pipe annular space fill; aban... doned tunnel/pipe/mine/basement/tank fill; retaining wall backfill, etc. FloFil is a lightweight material that will "seek it's own level" and completely fill underground voids, and then will cure to provide compressive strengths and bearing capacity well in excess of even well compacted soils. FloFil consists of fly ash, cement and water only. The resulting mixture is lightweight, has superior flowability, and is self leveling and self compacting. Typical mix designs will produce 28 day compressive strenghts of 100-150 psi, which is superior to well compacted soils, while still allowing for future excavation if desired. FloFil is unusually cost-effective, because we produce the material directly at the jobsite. Fly ash and cement are delivered to the site and are discharged to our trailer mounted FloFil unit. Water is obtained from an on-site source and therfore is not hauled to the site on transit mixers. Metered fly ash, cement, and water are combined according to the mix design to produce flowable fill which is discharged wherever desired by the contractor. We have two trailer mounted FloFil units. Each can produce 30-40 cy of flowable fill per hour. Although we are based in Michigan, we can mobilize to any location. We have done projects as far as Massachusetts, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The FloFil units are regulation size length, width, height, and weight for over the road travel.Read More
