Flashback Imaging provides image visualization, search and retrieval tools to the customers who need to process huge amount of imagery. We market general and customized image browsers. We produce CD-ROM products and turnkey systems based on satellite remote sensing data, the Visible Human Project data (National Library of Medicine, Bethesda, MD), o... r customer's own data. Flashback Imaging has proven techniques or has refined techniques that allow users to quickly and interactively visualize any amount of imagery. Many expect that it may fundamentally change the way people work with digital images. Founded in 1995, Flashback Imaging has served many satisfied customers. Institutions and government agencies such as: National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Canadian Space Agency (St. Hubert, Quebec), Environment Canada (Downsview, Ontario), National Museum of Health & Medicine (Washington DC), Maryland Science Center (Baltimore, MD), Ontario Science Centre (Toronto, Canada), Canadian Ice Service (Ottawa, Canada), National Museum of Science and Technology (Ottawa, Ontario), National Science Museum (Tokyo, Japan), Korea-China Centre for Atmospheric Research (Choongbook, Korea) are some of our customers. Universities are using our image display software for advancing their research projects. The University of Colorado Health Science Center (Denver, CO), the producer of the Visible Human Project data sets, is using our Image Explorer software to greatly speed up the segmentation and classification of over 5,000 digital images of the Visible Woman. The Byrd Polar Research Center from the Ohio-State University (Columbus, OH) is using Image Explorer to help mosaic 8,000 RADARSAT images of the Antarctic (RADARSAT Antarctic Mapping Project, NASA). Customized versions of Image Explorer are integrated into larger turnkey systems installed around the world.
