We have said from the outset that we don't pretend to be a full-service wine merchant and we certainly don't offer all the wines any individual wine-lover would want to buy or drink. Essentially we are selling the wines we like and value, and believe are worth your money and the effort to appreciate them. But in one sense we are offering a very tra... ditional service which has almost disappeared, namely the opportunity to buy wine in small "drinker's" quantities when it is mature and at its best. Many wine enthusiasts of course buy their own stocks when young and enjoy them later, and indeed we offer a few recommendations on our links page of excellent independent merchants through whom we have bought in the past and who have direct relationships with growers and producers in France and elsewhere. But not everyone has the time, money, space or inclination to build up a wine collection over many years: in the distant past wine merchants used to hold stocks for the long term, but these days this is very rare.Read More
