Laundry services are every other Thursday from 8 - 10am at East Mini Mart - 2264 Marine Drive, Astoria. We serve meals without discrimination or judgement because we believe in love, humanity, empathy, connection, second chances, and in the worthiness of every human being. Filling Empty Bellies began the week before Thanksgiving of 2014. Founder, Corri Buck, delivered just 8 sandwich lunches to 8 hungry people. She drove to town and looked for anybody who might need a meal. After a month or so, with lots of help from friends and family, she got the Facebook page, PayPal Donation Account, and GoFundMe account set up. Since this time we have grown a lot and expanded our services as well. We now serve up to 50 people a day, sometimes more, and 6 days a week with Sundays off. Our meals are good, wholesome, home-cooked meals. We rely on volunteers and community support. We advocate for those who need it most in Clatsop county by meeting essential needs and supporting them in their journey towards full rehabilitation. Food is our priority. We also facilitate these services: laundry, haircuts, advocacy, newborn baby supplies, school supplies/clothing for children, holiday meals, and referrals to other resources in the area.
