Fifth Circle Audio is a company that specializes in the high end capture and reproduction of musical performances. The capture of performances includes audio and video, both live performances as well as studio sessions. All of our engineers have experience and training as musicians. This allows for a particular advantage in that capture: the knowle... dge of what it feels like to be inside the ensemble we are working with. Our productions have been recognized nationally, internationally, and have won numerous awards including an Emmy Award and a Grammy nomination. Benjamin Maas, Fifth Circle Audio's head engineer, has over 20 years of experience recording music and a lifetime of involvement in musical performance. His start was at the Eastman School of Music where, as a clarinet student, he recorded numerous performances of students and school ensembles including the famed Eastman Wind Ensemble. Early on, he also rose to the position of Head Engineer for the Eastern Music Festival where he produced tapes for national broadcast on National Public Radio. More recently, he has acted as the Head Engineer for the Henry Mancini Institute, the Ojai Music Festival, La Jolla Summerfest, and as an engineer for numerous performances by local professional groups.
