Fernbrook Farms

Fernbrook was purchased by the Kuser family of Trenton, NJ in 1890. During the 1930's Depression Years it was home to several families who farmed the land for their own sustenance and in 1943 the farm changed to a dairy operation, milking over 80 head of cows and selling the milk locally to the Walker Gordon Dairy in Plainsboro, NJ. Third generatio... n owners Susie and Q Kuser came to the farm in 1974 and began their dream of transforming the farm into a place that is shared with many and used to educate both young and old about food, the beauty of nature and sustainable farming practices. In 1996 the farm was permanently preserved under the New Jersey Farmland Preservation Act so no development can take place on the farm. Today the farm focuses on nursery stock, trees and shrubs that are sold from Maine to Virginia, 25 acres of organic vegetables for our CSA, year round educational programs and a summer camp for 6 to 14 year old children, and, of course, the Inn at Fernbrook, the original estate house and gardens that since 1996 have been a special venue for weddings and other special events. While Q spends his time on the agricultural production end of the farm, Innkeeper Susie loves parties and weddings.
