Boats are owned and driven by Australian businessmen and operation of the Class is currently funded entirely through membership. Crews in this Class consist of yachting luminaries such as Tom Slingsby, Malcolm Page, Mathew Belcher, Nathan Outteridge & Nina Curtis all successful competitors in the London 2012 Olympic Games. Rolex has sponsored the Worlds since 2001, two years after it began, and has enjoyed an 11 year association, demonstrating the prestige of this Class. Boats in the Farr 40 Class must meet strict One Design criteria so that all boats follow a specific design with no amendments allowed.
