Family Foundations

Family Foundations is a Jacksonville-based nonprofit human services organization dedicated to strengthening families and individuals through comprehensive counseling, financial education, and community-based programs. Originally established in 1955 as Family Counseling Services through a collaborative founding by the Junior League, United Way, and... the Jewish Welfare League, the organization has evolved into a multifaceted agency serving low-income families and vulnerable populations across the region. The organization's service portfolio encompasses marriage and family counseling, budget and financial counseling, family life education, housing counseling, and school-based juvenile delinquency prevention initiatives. Family Foundations holds significant professional credentials and affiliations, including accreditation by the Council on Accreditationa distinction earned in 1977 that positioned the agency among only five accredited organizations in Jacksonville at that timeand membership in the Alliance for Children and Families, the nation's largest association of family service agencies. The organization is also an approved Housing Counseling agency by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and maintains membership in the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. A notable programmatic strength is the Families and Schools Together (F.A.S.T.) initiative, a nationally acclaimed juvenile delinquency prevention program launched in 1997 that delivers services directly within local schools.
