Falk & Hamblin provides insurance companies, municipalities, school districts, and self-insureds with legal services related to employer/employee disputes. Virtually all of our work is defense related, and a vast majority of our legal services pertain to defending workers' compensation cases. Senior partners, Stephen S. Falk and C. Patrick Hamblin... each have over 30 years of experience managing a stable business, professional and clerical staff. We have extensive experience litigating workers' compensation claims before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board and extensive experience in appellate work before the California Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court. Our pro-active advisory and counseling services seek to resolve claims in an economical, expeditious manner and prevent situations that may have a negative impact on morale, lost time and expensive litigation for the entities we represent. When litigations occurs, Falk & Hamblin's policy is to advise clients regarding the law involved, the applicability of that law to the facts involved, to assess the risks and make recommendations regarding the most effective, efficient and economic resolution of the claims. We are cognizant that the responsibility for directing and controlling the defense of litigated claims lies with the insurance company's designated supervisors and adjusters. Upon notification of the position directed by the supervisor or adjuster, we vigorously advocate and litigate that position. In some cases, the insurance company may be mandated to provide benefits as a result of intentional acts or negligent acts of an external third party.
