In underdeveloped countries around the world, girls' education is being compromised by an almost unthinkably simple threat: the bodies they inhabit. Lack of modern sanitary supplies creates a situation so uncomfortable that girls are physically unable... to attend school for a number of days every month. This interferes with the girls' education and welfare, as well as the long-term prospects of the country. The Equal Protection Foundation is committed to raising awareness of this problem and helping to provide these girls with adequate protection. EPF works with girls' schools to integrate the necessary supplies into the educational environment. In the past, we have worked in partnership with The Daraja Academy in Kenya. As part of the seniors' community service requirement, they distributed sanitary supplies to nearby rural schools who are in desperate need for sanitary supplies that offer protection so that they can stay in school. While our mission to providing sanitary supplies to underprivileged girls in underdeveloped countries remains primary, we are also committed to going where we are needed. EPF will help girls affected by some of the world's worst humanitarian crises regain control of their self-respect and biological function. Whether their lives are shattered by natural disaster, conflict or detainment, EPF is committed to providing these girls with sanitary supplies.
