Epsilon Eta

The Mission of Epsilon Eta is to promote the fields relating to the environmental studies as the world becomes increasingly more in need of a united body of driven and educated environmental individuals. Epsilon is derived from the Greek word for science, and Eta from morality. The fraternity was founded not only to support scientific research, but... to encourage the use of this knowledge to promote a sustainable society. The fraternity's members range from policy students to scientists, who together with alumni form a broad and, critically, interdisciplinary network of environmental leaders. The three pillars of Epsilon Eta are Academics, Community and Service. Academics:The fraternity recognizes its members for their academic excellence as well as their leadership and dedication to the environmental community. Community: The first priority of this organization is to connect outstanding students whose primary academic focus is the environment, and to provide them with a network of support and opportunities during and after their academic career. The organization will strive connect students not only with each other, but with professors, alumni, scientists, policy-makers, non-profit organizations, and other members of the environmental community by platforms such as alumni-member networking, community events, and the eventual establishment of a national conference. Service: The fraternity focus is not just on academic excellence, but in putting ideas into action through service projects. Examples of projects include river clean-ups, hosting members of the environmental community for public lectures, and community outreach and public education. This betters the environment while strengthening community outreach skills of each member. By putting academic intelligence into action members will create and participate in their own projects, focusing on public education and generating environmental awareness.
