ENVERT is a digital news platform specifically curated for independent musicians. Our mission is to provide unbiased coverage of these entertainers based solely on the merit of their work. This coverage includes song write-ups, music video spotlights, in-depth interviews, event coverage as well as other relevant news stories. We are all about the m... usic, not the gossip. In 2013, Flisadam Pointer, a then journalism and media studies student at Rutgers University stepped into the College Avenues student radio station, WRSU 88.7 FM, for the first day of her solo one-hour show, Envert Radio. Despite being within the #1 media market, unsigned recording artists were often ignored by many media outlets including radio. Envert Radio started as an on-air undiscovered playlist, but quickly grew due to the communitys needs. After receiving a warm reception from local artists and the student body, the show expanded to a two-hour weekly freeform show featuring on-air performances, in-studio interviews, and music premieres. Past notable guest include NBCs The Voice contestant Felicia Temple. The show continued for three semesters, however, following Flisadams graduation from Rutgers after securing full-time employment she found it difficult to manage both the shows high demands and her workplace responsibilities. In 2015, Envert Radio was laid to rest broadcasting its last show from Rutgers Universitys airwaves. A year passed but the passion for the independent music scene burned deeper than ever before in Flisadams soul. Unable to hide from her passion any longer, Flisadam made the decision to relaunch Envert Radio making the transition from an on-air radio show to an online news site in 2016, officially celebrating its birthday on August 8th. Moving forward, ENVERT is looking forward to expanding to fulfill the needs of the independent community.
