Ettrick Elementary School is a public school located in South Chesterfield, Virginia. It is part of Chesterfield County Public Schools. Ettrick Elementary has been educating children since the 1920s. Budgeted for $33.76 million, the school was completed on time and under budget. This is one of the school replacements approved by Chesterfield County voters through the 2013 school bond referendum. Ettrick Elementarys population is comprised of children from rural and suburban communities, representing diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. The close proximity of Virginia State University to Ettrick Elementary provides resource people and services in the form of consultants, student teachers, student tutors, and educational media. Serving students in grades pre-kindergarten through five, the school is staffed with more than 75 persons. The regular classroom teaching staff is augmented by full-time professional staff in the areas of art, music, physical education, library, reading and math specialists, speech therapy, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, mild and moderate mental disabilities, and counseling. Full-time personnel in food services, custodial services, and transportation provide support services. Additionally, there is an office manager, two school secretaries, instructional assistants, a clinic assistant, and two building administrators. Itinerant staff includes a school nurse, occupational and physical therapists, school social workers, school psychologists, and educational diagnosticians.
