Enigmatico Films

Enigmatico Films was formed in 1993 by husband-and-wife filmmakers David Mortin and Patricia Fogliato, who have since created numerous award-winning documentaries and performing arts specials for television. They have just completed their debut theatrical feature, Mad Ship , starring Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Gil Bellows, Line Verndal, Aidan Devine and Rac... hel Blanchard. Mad Ship is the story of a Scandinavian immigrant, driven to madness by ruined dreams and the tragic death of his wife, who embarks on a quixotic mission to build a homemade ship and sail out of the prairie dust bowl at the height of the Great Depression. The film will receive its World Premiere at the 2012 Whistler Film Festiva l. David and Patricia are currently developing several new feature projects, including: The Songbird, a romantic Victorian fable about an obsessive love affair between two aerial acrobats, set against the tumultuous backdrop of Niagara Falls and the world of 19th century circus spectacles Wuthering Heights on a high-wire. (link to LookBook) The Gravesavers, a family film about a twelve-year-old girl who is sent to spend the summer in a seaside village with her sour grandmother, and becomes haunted by the history of the most tragic Maritime shipwreck prior to the Titanic. Adapted from the novel by Sheree Fitch. (link to 1-sheet) The Cameraman, a retro-noir thriller set in 1948 Hollywood, in which a cameraman unwittingly films a madman director killing the lead actress in the midst of a movie shoot, and must unravel the directors mysterious motives when he is also charged with murder. David and Patricias previous productions include Black Widow (2005), a macabre film noir musical starring singers Sarah Slean, Martin Tielli, Mary Margaret OHara, and actors Tom McCamus and Julian Richings. The film received a Czech Crystal, for Best Performing Arts Program at the prestigious Golden Prague International Television Festival.
