Enhanced Technologies Group, Inc., is a woman-owned business that provides IT services, hardware, and support. In 1987 Kristie and James Ott formed a small business to build desktop computers. They saw increasing demand for personal computers that competed with the larger and more expensive models sold by IBM and other manufacturers, so they put th... eir diverse backgrounds to the task. Working part-time from their garage, the couple combined Kristie's business management experience with Jim's impressive engineering background to custom-build computers for the small business market. Kristie oversaw business operations while also working in dental practice management. Jim handled technical operations as he continued to work as an engineer. As the business continued to grow the company incorporated and in 2001 Kristie became president of the corporation, with 51 percent of the stock, and Jim as vice president holding the remaining stock. Kristie shifted the company's focus from home users and desktop computers to the corporate market and networking. In 2006, she negotiated the purchase of a line of business from Network Corps. In addition to adding talent and resources to the firm, the acquisition moved the company into the midsized corporate marketplace. With Network Corps they acquired a technology platform for Managed Services. Recognizing the needs better management of their own technology, in 2008 they automated their service management systems with ConnectWise, an automated service ticketing software solution. One year later Kristie expanded their managed service program by adopting Level Platforms solution as the basis for their managed services. In 2010, to address the accelerated convergence of telephony and computer systems, ETGI started a telephony practice and is authorized dealers for ShoreTel and Cisco VOIP telephony products.
