Enhanced Performance Systems (EPS) was established in 1977 and incorporated in 1997 by Dr. Robert M. Nideffer, the developer of The Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS) Inventory. From 1977 to 1983, the main agenda for EPS included: Examining the impact that changes in emotional arousal have on the ability of people to control and shift their focus of concentration. Evaluating the utility of psychological techniques like hypnosis, biofeedback, and other arousal and concentration control procedures for enhancing performance, especially in high-pressure situations. From 1983 to 1990 EPS focused on the the use of TAIS for teambuilding and performance enhancement in sport. TAIS continues to be used by a wide range of professional athletes and athletic associations, and by various Olympic teams and Olympic Training Centers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Russia, China, and Poland.
