About Energy Conservation Technologies

Boulder, Colorado based Energy Conservation Technologies, Inc., (ECT) was established in July 2004. Fazle Quazi, ECT's founder, is one of the world's leading power conversion engineers. Over the past 20 years, he has generated 16 national and international patents involving radio frequency excited plasma sputtering, electronic dimming ballasts and controls for fluorescent lamps, optical sensors for day light harvesting, vehicular and portable engine based AC power generations for utility grids, and electronic ballasts for HID lamps. Quazi pioneered and introduced the resonance-converter-based "Sinusoidal dimming electronic ballast," for fluorescent lamps in 1988. Landmark features such as low turn-on AC inrush current, near unity power factor, very low total harmonic distortions (THD), pre-heating lamp filaments by programmed frequency sweep, and 100% down to 1% continuous dimming, set new standards for the fluorescent lamp ballast industry.
