It has two purposes: first, to bring greater understanding of art through clear, well-written tutorials and articles; and second, to help new or unknown artists reach a wider audience by encouraging ALL artists to use the internet to promote and sell their artwork. In addition (not that I should really have to say this) much of what is written on E... mptyEasel falls under the category of opinion. Art is subjective, after all. Why don't you allow comments? For a number of reasons, but mostly because I just don't have the time to moderate them or deal with spam. Plus, I'm not a professional web programmer, so when I started EmptyEasel I took the simplest route I could. I'll admit, though, I'm also something of a perfectionist and I wanted to be able to control exactly what appeared on EmptyEasel. So why do you let other people write articles? Because I know my own limitations, both as a writer and an artist. Let's face it, I'm an oil painter, but that's about it. I can't help artists who need watercolor advice, or people who want to start sculpting. I realized, however, that what I can do is allow all the fantastic artists out there who DO have that additional knowledge to share it through this website. Can I write an article for EE?
