Empowerment Through Integration

Empowerment Through Integration (ETI) is committed to developing a more inclusive society and breaking the cycle of disempowerment of people with disabilities by focusing primarily and intensively on the capacity building and mindset transformation of local professionals and families in underserved communities. In 2015, there were an estimated 253... million people with vision impairment in the world. Almost 90% of people with vision impairments live in low- and middle-income countries ( https://www.researchgate.net/publication/323435449_World_blindness_and_visual_impairment_despite_ma ny_successes_the_problem_is_growing ). In underserved communities around the world, many families with children with visual impairments and families do NOT have access to specialized life skills training available in their language, which can delay the empowerment and inclusion of children with disabilities in their families, schools, and communities. That's where ETI Connect comes in. ETI Connect is an initiative that aims to bridge the distance between knowledge specialists and underserved families with youth with disabilities globally. This initiative utilizes an eLearning portal to match specialists and beneficiaries around the world. With ETI Connect, families can have access to specialists who speak their native language and/or reside in their country of origin.
