Emerald Exotics is a business that was created by and owned by Alejandro Lozano. We are dedicated to herpetology, herpetoculture and nature in general. We have been breeding reptiles and amphibians in captivity since 1998 and have kept and bred hundreds of species. We started with chameleons, moved to snakes and then began specializing in geckos, w... hile maintaining various mammals, birds, turtles and tortoises, crocodilians and a lot of arachnids and arthropods. Alejandro Lozano is also dedicated to photographing animals in the wild and teaching others about nature. He has been catching animals since he was 2 years old and is an expert at finding and observing animals in the wild. He has been keeping and breeding reptiles and amphibians for over 20 years and created Emerald Exotics as a way to share these beautiful creatures with many people and to teach as many people as possible about proper care and maintenance of animals. It is of utmost importance to us that plants and animals are understood and respected the way that they need to be. Especially in the confines of captive collections. It is also imperative that these plants and animals are understood in the wild before they are even attempted to be kept in captivity. Not only will there be a better understanding for how they co-habitate, but this will also lessen the amount of errors that occur in maintaining them in captivity. It is important to us that wildlife remain on our planet for as long as possible and in order to keep these creatures from a certain demise a lot has to be understood about them. Captive production will not only help to stabilize their populations in the wild, by potentially reducing exportation, but will also allow us to understand them better and keep each species in existence.
