About Elliott Homes
John J. Elliott, Jr. started his career in banking in 1971 working for Cobb Federal and Fulton Federal as a savings and loan department manager. During his nine years in banking he worked his way up from trainee to District Vice President. During that time, John worked with many builders and developers, assisting them in getting financing. After working around the construction industry, he realized he wanted to take his career in that direction. In 1980 he formed Elliott Homes, Ltd. His plan was to build small single-family homes in Cobb County. Soon after he teamed up with Pete Waldrep to form Elliott-Waldrep Properties. For the next five years John and Pete built residential homes with lots bought from Traton Homes, Arvida, and Cotton States Properties. Most of the homes they built were in Cobb County.
