EKAM Foundation

In 2007, Ekam was established as an incubatory community paediatric project of Confederation of Indian Organigations for Services and Advocacy (CIOSA). On Doctors' Day, Ekam started its operations as a CSR initiative of Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd. Ekam worked on the belief that every child has a right to healthcare irrespective of his/her fi... nancial background and that no parent or doctor should ever feel guilty about not being able to provide healthcare to a child just because of the lack of financial resources. In 2007, Ekam focused on fundraising for hospitalisation expenses, drugs support, and equipment support. It started to work in schools and ICDS centres by conducting screening camps, and provided Iron/Folic Acid supplements to combat anaemia-related problems. In 2008, along the Public-Private Partnership model, Ekam started providing support to the public health care system, starting with the Institute of Child Health, Chennai. In 2009, the trust was registered as an independent Non-Governmental Organisation called Ekam Foundation. Ekam Foundation continues to work extensively within the public healthcare system and provides support to government hospitals in the form of equipment, drugs, human resources, etc. IIn 2012, the foundation expanded its operations to M Ward in Mumbai, Maharashtra.
