About Edward John Eyre High School
Established in 1968, Edward John Eyre High School (EJEHS) is the senior secondary school for Whyalla, South Australia. Whyalla is located 4 hours north of Adelaide on the Eyre Peninsula. The town has a population of 21,000 and is the largest regional centre in South Australia, just ahead of Mount Gambier. EJEHS has strong links to industry, especially the mining and steel industries of the region. Our Pre-Industry program is one avenue that enables students to get the training required to help make them more employable by employers. We are also one of the lead-schools in the Eyre & Upper Spencer Trade School for the Future providing links to courses from all across the state. Our student cohort comes primarily from the two junior high schools of the town, Whyalla High School and Stuart High School. We have approximately 500 students in Stage 1 and Stage 2 and offer a variety of different pathways and programs.Explore more
