About Edgar Minerals

Edgar Minerals's operation is located in Putnam County Florida and was started in 1892 by the Edgar family. Edgar Minerals is arguably the oldest continuously operating mining concern in Florida. Originally operating as the Edgar Plastic Kaolin Company and more recently as the Feldspar Corporations Edgar Facility. The original focus of the operation when it was founded 120 years ago, was the white kaolin clay, while the sand contained in the reserves was treated as a by-product of the clay process. Today, Edgar Minerals, continues to produce the unique, high quality clay along with premium and custom blended sand products for industrial and construction use. With over 2500 acres of mineable land, Edgar Minerals is capable of supplying local and global markets with sand and clay for many years to come.Explore more
