ECOCIENCIA is created on the initiative of Ben Beeckmans, graduate of the University of Brussels in Environmental Sciences, 1975. The guiding principle of ECOCIENCIA is that nature determines the beauty of the earth and that Environmental and Natural Sciences help to preserve it. At ECOCIENCIA we believe that science is the basis for the developmen... t of our society and for guaranteeing a sustainable world for the future. On this premise ECOCIENCIA organizes and supports scientific projects in collaboration with universities, whose objective is to help, scientifically, in the conservation of the natural environment. At the same time, ECOCIENCIA is able to offer an opportunity to young graduates and students in their final year of participating in these scientific projects. In this way students are given the chance of working on a scientific project which could be of value in their future professional career. The projects organized by ECOCIENCIA are intended to be basic works or studies of well defined aspects of environmental themes. Since, ECOCIENCIA is a company based on the island of Ibiza, at first it gave priority to environmental projects related to this island.
