About Echem
eChem is a private chemical company that began trading on 1st May 2000 from its headquarters in the United Kingdom. The company was formed as a result of a management buyout from a major chemical company and is wholly owned by its management and employees. Our site in Leeds, in the north of England, has a long history of chemical manufacture. It has operated under the ownership of a number of prominent multinational companies over many years. In addition, we opened a second manufacturing facility on a green field site in Lufkin, Texas, near the US Gulf Coast in May 2004 and can now service customers throughout the EU and the Americas.
