Ebb & Flow Arts

A little insight into why I do what I do. Ebb & Flow Arts began as an outlet for too much creative energy. It started with custom stained glass windows and moved through paintings, prints, drawings, beaded jewelry, fused glass jewelry and now lamp-worked wonders are joining in the mix. My goal has never been to sell art, (although it's nice when th... at happens.) just to make and share what i've made. I know that I gain inspiration from the creativity of artists and I hope that my creativity will in turn inspire others. I called my business Ebb & Flow Arts because it comes and it goes. Like the tides. There are days when all I want to do is create, and weeks when I feel like all of the creative energy I've ever had has been drained from me. The ebb and flow of creation is a natural thing. Creativity has been an influencing factor in my life since a very young age. I remember always having a sketchbook somewhere on my person (mostly, when I was younger, as a diversion to avoid having to interact with other people), always observing the world with an artists eye. There are, tucked carefully away, several sketchbooks full of images that only a childs mind could conjure or appreciate. I find that my history, as I assume can be said of so many artists, can be traced throughout my lifes timeline from one catalyst to another. Each spark caused by a connection, a discovery, a creation. Each step of the way supported and encouraged by my wonderful mother, who continually provided me with art supplies, inspirations and stronger-than-steel personality to emulate and aspire to. I have learned, in my time, that if you want art in your life, view the world as art and you will never be without it. My love of art (and antisocial behavior) at the early age of eight led one of my teachers to introduce me to art therapy with Robert Ault.
