East Bay Community Development Corp, (EBCDC) is a non-profit corporation that has been in existence for 30 years. Formerly known as the Bristol Foundation, it was founded in 1989 as a result of a study commissioned by the Town of Bristol. The goal was to determine what could be done to energize and revive the blighted neighborhood surrounding the f... ormer Kaiser Mill complex which had stood empty for over 20 years. So it was that EBCDC was established to create and maintain affordable housing for the towns low to moderate income citizens in the face of the then continually rising housing prices and the stagnation of wages. Today, EBCDC owns and manages 344 apartment units in multiple scattered sites throughout Bristol., Warren, and Barrington. Along with their family housing units EBCDC also owns and manages Franklin Court Independent Living, a senior living housing facility and Franklin Court Assisted Living.
