Early Development Services Inc. is a California-based provider of comprehensive child development and early education services serving families across the Monterey Peninsula region. Founded in 1998 as Avondale Child Development Center in Seaside with capacity for 44 children ages two years through kindergarten entry, the organization has expanded s... ignificantly to operate multiple specialized facilities addressing diverse developmental stages and family needs. Recognizing strong demand for infant and toddler care, Early Development Services opened the Monterey Peninsula's first and only specialized infant-toddler development facility in 2002, establishing a dedicated center focused exclusively on children ages 12 months through two years. The company subsequently incorporated under its current name and secured contracts with the California Department of Education's Child Development Division to provide subsidized quality child care services to income-qualified families, a partnership that has remained central to its mission and funding model. By 2003, Early Development Services operated two primary locationsHayes Education Center, serving 118 children ages two through fifth grade, and its specialized infant-toddler facilitycollectively serving approximately 160 children and families daily. In 2006, the organization expanded further by acquiring a third location at Highlands Elementary School in Seaside, opening Highlands Early Education Center to serve 36 children ages 12 months through first grade entry, enabling families to access both child care and elementary education services at a single location.
