Dyno Oil

Del Nelson founded Dyno Oil Co., Inc. in 1958 by leasing a closed bulk plant and four closed service stations. Prior to that time he was the Eastern Iowa Sales Manager for Sinclair Refining Co. Over the years Dyno's has had steady growth in sales and has changed its sales emphasis as the times have changed. Dyno Oil Co., Inc. was the second in the... State to market gasohol and distributed Ethanol all over Iowa. At one time Dyno Oil Co., Inc. had four bulk plants, four tank trucks, and three transport trucks. As the environmental laws became more stringent and costly our customers gave up their underground storage tanks and service stations gave way to convenience stores with self-service pumps. Dyno Oil Co., Inc. sold its bulk plants, tank wagons, and transport trucks. At the present time we have contracts with Sinclair, Shell, Citgo and ExxonMobil. We sell to convenience stores, service stations, farm and commercial accounts in Northwest Iowa. In addition we own and operate eleven stores in Spencer, Milford, Hartley, Spirit Lake, Emmetsburg, Storm Lake, Paullina, Sanborn, Pocahontas, and Sibley. In addition to the fuel business we have a large bulk oil warehouse in Spencer, Iowa. We sell all major brand oils and have large bulk oil tanks from which the oil is placed in barrels and totes (250 gal containers). The company's management team consists of the founder, Del Nelson with over 60 years experience in the oil business; John Long who has been in the oil business since 1973 and with Dyno Oil Co., Inc. since 1985; Mark. Nelson who has over 30 years experience working both at Dyno Oil and for an oil company in Alaska; and Nellie Nelson with over 25 years in the petroleum business and as Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Charter College.Read More
