DynAPI

DynAPI is a DHTML library of JavaScript files, meant for simplifying cross-browser compability. The project originally created developed and maintained by Dan Steinman, was further developed in version 2, where it became a more full-blown object-orientational structured library with the help of people from the Open Source community. DynAPI has sinc... e become a tool of many website developers professinals, enthusiasts and amateures alike, because it unifies development with the different and incompatible implementations of the browser DOM. Without it developers must often write much of the code twice or more to fit the different browsers on the market. With it they can better concentrate on the essentials of the actual design of a website application. Though - or because of - it's Java-like syntax some users with very little experience have a steep learning-curve to both Javascript and the DynAPI And even though there are some docs how to use it, the development of those haven't really kept up with the development of the API itself, and gotten outdated. Also there has never really been and development tool that really fit the DynAPI, because as an API it is somewhere in-between of simple scripting of HTML with simple JavaScript and the mature programming of Java. So while there's lot of tools for integrated development with Java, probably even more for HTML and even some specific Javascript tools, none of this really fits the DynAPI and the specific integration of tools for development with DynAPI.
