Operating the offshore oil fields of Dubai since 1966, Dubai Petroleum Establishment's offshore scope now includes four fields: Fateh, Southwest Fateh, Falah and Rashid. Fateh is the largest and the oldest of... our four oil fields and has been continuously developed since its discovery in 1966. Fateh has processing facilities, gas lift compression, a waterflood facility and the world's unique underwater storage facility with its storage vessels called "Khazzans". Crude oil is loaded onto the tankers berthing at Fateh Field through our Single Point Mooring System (SPM). Southwest Fateh was discovered in 1970 and is the second largest DPE oil field, with its own water injection and gas lift facilities. Oil production is transferred by pipeline to the Fateh Field for storage and export. The other two fields are the Falah Field, discovered in 1972, and the Rashid Field, which was discovered in 1973.
