Dr Lisa Denny

Over the past twenty years, Dr Lisa Denny has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the private, public and academic sectors in Tasmania. She has an intricate understanding and knowledge of the influences and drivers of Tasmanias population and economy and a deep commitment to ensuring that the States potential is realised. As a demog... rapher and quantitative researcher, Lisa provides independent economic and demographic analysis and advice at state, regional or local level using multiple social and economic variables. Lisas area of interest and expertise centres on the interrelated nature of the population, education and training, industry and work with a view to achieving economic renewal in the context of population change and other socio-economic scenarios. She focuses on producing empirically based evidence to inform policy and planning to improve productivity, education to employment transitions, workforce planning, equality and well-being. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) and in 2018 completed a PhD with the University of Tasmania. Lisa's PhD thesis is entitled 'Skill Utilisation: an alternative to the 3Ps solution to population ageing'. She is also currently studying a Masters of Educational Studies at UQ and completing the Language Essentials for Teaching Reading and Spelling (LETRS) course.
