The organization serves ten downtown districts, including the following: The Main Street movement, led by the National Main Street Center, involves more than 1,000 community programs througho... ut the country and has transformed the way communities think about the revitalization of their historic downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts. It has helped put historic preservation back in the community revitalization conversation. Dubuque Main Street has been a part of this tradition from the beginning, and is celebrated as the longest-running urban Main Street program in the country. The summer Dubuque Farmers Market has been located in the Upper Main district since 1845. Each Saturday morning, May 1 through October 31, local vendors gather to sell homegrown or handmade items. Located in downtown Dubuque, Iowa, in the area around City Hall. (Iowa, 12th, and 13th streets!) Dubuque Main Street is always looking for volunteers to help at the Business P.M., DubuqueAnd All That Jazz!, and other great annual events. I am proud to be a Dubuque Main Street Board Member and recognize the long lineage of Board Members and their roles in the dramatic renaissance the organization has spearheaded for over 30 years.
