Wild Dog Mushing Company (WDMC) is owned and operated by Robert Valli. Robert was born in Pennsylvania, went to Gonzaga College High School in Washington D.C., and graduated with honors in 1993 from Boston University with a B.A. in Environmental Studies, with a focus in analysis and policy. Robert has worked for the White Mountain Apache Tribal Gam... e and Fish in AZ, and the Nature Conservancy in ID. He has also owned, and still operates, a number of online computer businesses. Robert became interested in sled dogs after he worked and handled for a 7 time world champion racing kennel in Salcha, Alaska. After spending a year learning from Roxy Wright and Charlie Champaine, he then spent a year in Colorado working for Dan MacEachen's 'Krabloonik' restaurant and touring operation in Snowmass Village, the largest touring kennel in the country with over 250 dogs. After saving enough money to venture out to start his own business, he moved to Utah and in 1999 formed WDMC, a Utah corporation, to offer tourists a unique and exhilarating back-country dog sledding experience. In the Spring of 2005, WDMC, recognized as the only completely legal touring operation in the entire state, was shut down, and the dogs were moved to PA and raced in Michigan and Quebec on the Open Pro Tour.
