DKJ Architects (more formally known as Douglas K. Janzen, Architects) is a sole proprietorship business established in October of 1990 by Doug Janzen. Our firm specializes in the design and construction of educational facilities, including grade levels Pre-school through High School and Adult School. School construction requires a higher level of f... amiliarity with both State Funding Programs and current Regulatory Procedures. The staff of DKJ has a wide range of talents and expertise to meet our client's needs. Through a myriad of projects we have done for a variety of school districts, we have attained a level of proficiency unmatched by most offices. This experience is readily made available for those school districts that may not have the ability to dedicate staff to these often intensive functions. This ability allows smaller districts to level the playing field with the larger schools and secure the funding necessary from available state resources. Doug Janzen is a licensed Architect in the state of California operating under license number C-14260 since 1983. Doug received formal training and a Bachelor of Science, Architecture with secondary emphases on Room and Music Acoustics, Ecclesiastical Design, & Lighting from California Polytechnic State University in 1978. Doug served as President of the Sequoia Section of the A.I.A. in 1994 and as Secretary/Treasurer in 1996. Among his other professional affiliations are: C.A.S.H., C.E.F.P.I., CASBO, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Doug is also a Principal Architect in the firm Dyson-Karby-Siegrist-Janzen, Architects, Inc. (known as DKSJ, Inc.) established in 1992 (See www.DKSJ.net and www.arthurdyson.com).
