Design Structures was founded in 1987 by Jim Kirner, a life-long resident of the Prairie du Sac, WI area with extensive experience in the construction industry. In mid-2001, Michael Zingg and Jim Anderson began to purchase a majority interest in the company from Kirner. That process was complete by early 2004. The company spent much of its time in the early years traveling from coast-to-coast designing, building and remodeling facilities in glass and glass products industry. Since then, Design Structures has broadened its experience to include many other clients, project types and end-uses. In 1987, the notion of design-build was still in its infancy. As an industry leader, our founder set a high standard for service and developed open and honest relationships with his clients. Since that time, the current owners and team members have embraced this philosophy. They maintain a company-wide commitment not just to design and build quality buildings, but also to treat both our clients and subcontractors with integrity and respect.
