Our annual raffle of the buff, beautiful bodies of the Warwick Rower's Calendars has awarded three winners! The Warwick Rowers, apart from being fin... e specimens of physical form are, like Desert Voices, committed to supporting acceptance, diversity, and celebrating the uniqueness of each and every human being. The beauty of this organization is truly beyond skin deep. Our thanks, once again, to Fran Westra for donating these beautiful calendars in her unwavering support of this chorus and our community. Thank you to all who participated in the raffle, and congratulations to our winners! The votes are in, they've been counted, re-counted, and certified. It's officially a landslide as the board of directors has unanimously made Kimberly Waigwa ("Waigwa" they, them) Artistic Director/Conductor of Desert Voices Chorus! Waigwa became Interim Artistic Director in January of this year and for the first two months of in-person rehearsals, 70 singers were enthusiastically engaged and preparing for their first concert under Waigwa's wing. Then the pandemic changed everything. As it became more apparent that congregating together was impossible for the foreseeable future, Waigwa brought us together digitally and continues to engage us with creative determination. This first year as Interim has been unlike anything any of us could have imagined, and Waigwa's constant leadership throughout has been steadfast. We are indeed fortunate that someone as uniquely talented as Waigwa is so devoted to Desert Voices, and we in turn are devoted to their success.
