Delta Environmental

Delta Environmental was originally established as Delta Laboratories in 1971. Today, Delta Environmental continues its long-standing mission to educate students, teachers and the community about the importance of protecting the environment and our waterways through real life experiences. Now serving more than 3,000 students at more than 20 schools,... our year-round programs provide an opportunity for students in K-12 to visit the Erie Canal on the Sam Patch, Irondequoit Creek, the Genesee River, and other waterways to learn. Many schools have easy access to nearby waterways or ponds. Delta Environmental encourages students to connect to these treasures by providing teachers with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) program. Under the leadership of Kaeti Stoss, Delta Environmental received the CEI Elizabeth Thorndike Environmental Leadership Award in 2017 for making significant contributions to the regions environmental health. Whether you fish, sail, paddle, hike, or simply enjoy the outdoors, you benefit from our natural and healthy waterways. Our programs are successful because of the support we receive from our community partners and people who know the value of our work. We offer volunteer opportunities in communications, community outreach, and fundraising. We also offer companies the chance to serve as program sponsors of a particular school.
