Delaware Pediatrics

Our providers and staff have dedicated our careers to providing comprehensive care to the families who have trusted us with the health of their children. We have established ongoing relationships and affiliation with the Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (Nemours) and Christiana Care Health Systems, and with their residents and faculty. Dr. Ma... tt Gotthold was very fortunate when, upon completing his residency in 1994, he was asked by Forrest Hawkins, MD to assume Dr. Hawkins' established and well-respected Pediatrics practice in North Wilmington upon Dr. Hawkins' retirement. Dr. Pat Scott joined Dr. Gotthold in 1995, having previously served as a mentor to Dr. Gotthold during his residency training. Through our connection to the Pediatric Residency program of Thomas Jefferson University at duPont Hospital, we recruited Dr. Jason Hann-Deschaine in 2004. This coincided with the opening of a second Delaware Pediatrics office, known as the Appoquinimink office, in the Middletown-Odessa-Townsend area. Natalie Kasper, PNP (Pediatric Nurse Practitioner) joined the Appoquinimink office shortly thereafter, recruited from duPont Hospital for Children. In early 2014, Dr. Stephanie Walter, who had trained as a resident under Dr. Gotthold and who spent 7 years as a pediatric hospitalist/primary care physician at Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children (Nemours), joined our North Wilmington office. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Melissa Damiano, who trained under Dr. Walter at duPont Hospital for Children (Nemours), joined the Appoquinimink office. In the summer of 2016, Jill Dugar, CNP was recruited to join the Appoquinimink office after spending more than a decade caring for young children through Delaware's Child Development Watch program. In January 2017, after years of close collaboration, Francyk Pediatrics merged with Delaware Pediatrics bringing Dr. Darren Franczyk to the North Wilmington office and Ashley Carunchio, NP to the Appoquinimink office.
