About Delaware Economic Development
The Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) was responsible for attracting new business and investment to the First State, for promoting the expansion of existing industry, for assisting small and minority-owned businesses, for promoting and developing tourism, and for creating new and improved employment opportunities for all citizens in Delaware. In 2017, Governor John Carney dissolved the cabinet-level agency and transferred many of DEDO's previous responsibilities to a new public-private nonprofit called the Delaware Prosperity Partnership. Functions focused on supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs were folded into a new agency in the Delaware Department of State named the Division of Small Business Development and Tourism.Explore more
