About Deaf Society
Established in 1913. The Deaf Society of New South Wales was founded in 1913 in response to the needs of deaf people who used sign language as their primary means of communication. The Society was incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee in 1922 and is a registered charity. We work in partnership with the Deaf Community to enhance the quality of life of deaf people, strengthen the community and advocate for changes that will ensure fundamental rights and freedoms. The Deaf Society of New South Wales believes in equity for deaf people.
