From its origins in the North East of England nearly 30 years ago, DE Pharmaceuticals grew rapidly to establish itself as the NE region's leading pharmaceutical wholesaler. In 2007 the business began its geographical expansion through the merger with Doncaster Pharmaceuticals. The experience of DE within the generic sector combined with the infrastructure and heritage of Doncaster in the PI market, were a perfect combination to create a platform for sustained growth and expansion. In the following years DE have continued to expand through organic growth combined with the strategic acquisition of established successful regional wholesalers. New DE depots were opened in the North West of England and Yorkshire, whilst the acquisition of National Generics in the Midlands, Eclipse Generics in Scotland and Crosspharma Pharmaceuticals in Northern Ireland completed the national coverage. In 2013 the DE Group was the subject of a successful management buyout, and is now part of the Converse Pharma Group. The business has grown from strength to strength over the past few years with sales to independent retail community pharmacy reaching £135m in 2015. With a strong market heritage the DE Group has long standing trading relationships with the world's leading pharmaceutical manufacturers, and over 3000 independent community pharmacy customers.
