D&D Missionary Homes

Without wavering from its goal of the past seven decades, D&D Missionary Homes has made some major transitions in the past year to enable it to fulfill its mission better than ever. This can be seen in two areas, the first of which is on an organizational level. D&D is now part of a consolidated group of nonprofits working together to provide a muc... h more cost-effective way of managing their operations. This group includes Hannah Grace Homes in Florida and South Carolina as well as the National Center for Life and Liberty. These organizations share a corporate headquarters in Largo, Fla. By utilizing this method, D&D can have more people involved in its operations while not creating a cost structure that is prohibitive to meeting the needs of the missionaries. The second area of transition involves the homes themselves. As you certainly know, housing in this day and age can be a costly enterprise. The homes used for many years by D&D in St. Petersburg, Florida, began to fall into disrepair to the point that the cost of keeping up the housing exceeded the revenue from donations. Some of them had asbestos and other age-related issues that were simply too much to overcome financially. Today, our ministry owns several homes in Largo within very close proximity to the D&D headquarters, all of which have been purchased in the past year and dedicated solely to missionary housingtasteful, comfortable, respite lodging. With six homes in Largo on the Gulf coast, as well as two in central Florida and one in South Carolina, the ministry has returned to its original purpose of providing free housing to missionaries instead of a hotel-type model that charges those who stay.
