Thank you to everyone who participated in the auditions for this production. Under the Direction of Matthew Smith, The Great Gatsby will open on Friday, November 5th. With the opening of American Son by Christopher Demos-Brown, The Dayton Playhouse stages a modern American drama that shines a contemporary light on a very old problem. The play invit... es the audience to examine their preconceptions and biases, while following a drama about the interactions between African Americans and American Police forces. The cast of Teresa Lynn, Robert Brumberg, Nathan Evans, and Franklin Johnson have been hard at work since July to bring this script to life and return live theater to the Playhouse stage. This production is directed by Tim Rezash. With its unrelentingly high tension on every level maternal, marital, societal its more like a slice of a nightmare, with few contours despite its surprises.
