Daulat Ram College

Daulat Ram College, a premier college for women is a constituent college of the University of Delhi, founded in 1960. Originally known as 'Pramila College' it was renamed Daulat Ram College after the founder educationist Shri Daulat Ram Gupta, when the college shifted to its present location on Patel Marg in the North Campus of University of Delhi... in the year 1964. It is a prestigious women's college of the University of Delhi with a track record of distinction in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. With an enrolment of over 2000 students, it has nineteen departments engaged in offering undergraduate courses of the University of Delhi in Arts, Sciences and Commerce. Seven of these Departments register students at the Master's level for tutorial classes which supplement the M.A. lecture classes held at the University of Delhi. The faculty is highly qualified and experienced, a majority of them with doctoral qualifications and some of them guiding students at the post graduate and doctoral levels. A well equipped library and excellent facilities for sports, including gymnastics, are strong assets of the college. Academic and co-curricular activities are organized by different departments through Subject Associations and Societies both at inter class and inter college levels providing ample opportunities for participation and creative expression in both academic and co-curricular fields. Apart from providing an arena for intellectual and cultural expressions, life in Daulat Ram College is also an experience in development of a democratic spirit, a sense of community and intellectual maturity. The different functions held in the college throughout the year, and the college festival "Manjari" organized by the Students' Union provide for a close interaction between students and teachers.
